An anal douche does one thing, and misunderstanding it thoroughly is the most common mistake: it rinses out the last section of the bowel, no more. With haemorrhoids, fresh tears or a bowel condition the question belongs with a doctor and not in a product description. What water goes in?

Lukewarm tap water, nothing else. Soap, salt and shower gel irritate the mucous membrane; water that is too hot or too cold does too - it should feel tepid, not warm.

How often can you do this?

Not as a daily habit. Regular rinsing washes away the natural protective layer as well. Before the occasion yes, on principle no.

How long beforehand?

Half an hour to an hour. Water can still run out right afterwards - planning for that time spares the unease.

How is it cleaned?

Bulb and nozzle separately with warm water and a mild sex toy cleaner, then left to dry completely - inside too.
