Fistan is a hybrid: water and silicone oil in one formula. The water content makes it creamy and easy to spread, the silicone content makes sure it has not vanished after ten minutes - which is exactly what anal play needs, where things take time. This makes it unsuitable for silicone toys. The oil content attacks the surface, it turns dull and tacky over time, and that cannot be undone. On glass, metal, PVC and latex it is harmless, and condoms tolerate silicone oil as well. The consistency is creamy and is not sticky after washing off - which is exactly where a good gel differs from a cheap one. Half a litre is the stock size. It pays off once you know this base is the right one for you - per millilitre it is considerably cheaper than the small bottle. Is a hybrid suitable for silicone toys?

No. That is the most common mistake with hybrid gels: because water appears as the first ingredient, many people think they are harmless. For your toy's silicone it is the oil content that decides, and it is there. For silicone take a pure water gel; suitable ones are under water-based lubricant.

And with condoms?

Latex condoms tolerate silicone oil, unlike vegetable oil or petroleum jelly. The same goes for latex gloves. When in doubt a pure water gel is always safe.

How much do I need?

More than you think, and considerably more for anal play than vaginally - nothing gets wet by itself there. You top up before it starts to drag, not once it is already rubbing. The selection is under anal and fisting lubricant.

How do I wash it off again?
