The Amp anal beads from Romp are made of purple silicone: several balls sit on a flexible strand and grow larger from the small tip down to the base. Between the balls the strand is thin and short, so they follow closely one after another. The base is an elongated oval. Why does the wide base matter so much?

It is the brake. The sphincter pulls inwards, and a toy without a flared base can disappear completely into the bowel. So always make sure the base stays outside; for anal play, only toys with such a base are an option.
