What is the handle for?

Worn behind the back, it sits between the hands. Whoever leads can hold on to it or steer the restrained person without grabbing the cuffs. Never yank it, because every pull ends up at both wrists.

How do you put them on?

Wrap the cuff around the wrist with the print facing out, thread the strap through the buckle and choose the hole where it sits firmly without pressing. Align the handle so it lies centrally behind the back.

What do you watch for when restraining?

One finger must fit between cuff and skin. Check at short intervals that the hands stay warm, and open at once at tingling, numbness, cold or discolouration. Behind the back the shoulders tire quickly, so change position after a while. Agree on a stop signal beforehand, keep scissors ready and never leave anyone restrained alone.
