Does the plush make them harmless?

It makes them softer on the skin, nothing more. Bow and ratchet remain metal, and a cuff closed too tightly presses through the cover just the same. So only close it far enough that one finger fits between plush and wrist.

How do you open them?

With one of the two keys in the keyhole on the housing. One lies within reach during play, the other in a fixed place as a spare. Try locking and unlocking once beforehand without a wrist.

What do you watch for while wearing them?

Check regularly that the hands stay warm and feel normal. At tingling, numbness, cold, discolouration or pain, unlock at once. Nobody hangs their weight in the chain, nobody restrained is left alone, and a stop signal agreed beforehand applies immediately.

How long can you wear them?
