How do the cuffs close?

Under the plush sits a toothed bow that clicks into the lock step by step as you press it shut. That way you close each cuff separately as far as it fits. Either of the two keys opens it.

How tight may they sit?

A finger's width of room between plush and skin must always remain. Check feeling and colour in the hands now and then; tingling, numbness, cold or pale fingers mean the cuffs come off at once. Whoever is restrained is never left alone and does not stay in the same position for long either. They never go round the neck, and they are not there for suspension. Why the quick-release button when there are keys?
