How tightly is the harness fastened?

So that two fingers fit under every belt. If hands or arms go numb, cold or pale or start to tingle, open the belts at once. The straps over the neck lie loosely and never pull on the throat. Never leave anyone restrained alone, and keep safety scissors within reach in case a buckle jams.

How do you put it on?

It is easiest with two people. First the neck straps go over the head, then the centre strap is lined up, and finally you close the cross belts from top to bottom. To open it, work in reverse.

On the skin or over clothing?

On the skin it sits most securely, because nothing slips. Over a close-fitting shirt it works too; then set the belts one hole looser.

What do you agree on beforehand?
