❓ FAQ
What does the nominal width mean?
It is the width of the condom lying flat, measured at the open end. Standard condoms are a few millimetres narrower; king size is meant for anyone who finds standard sizes too tight.
When does one need king size?
When the usual condom constricts or is hard to roll down. Both point to the wrong width: a condom that is too wide can slip off, one that is too tight can tear.
What matters when putting one on?
Open the foil with your fingers, not with teeth or scissors. Squeeze the air out of the reservoir at the tip before rolling it down, because trapped air increases the risk of it bursting, and only roll it onto the erect penis.
What are they made of?
Of natural rubber latex. They are not suitable if you have a latex allergy; latex-free models are under condoms.
Which lubricant goes with them?
One from water-based lubricant. Oil and fat attack latex and can make it tear; that includes massage oil, petroleum jelly and body lotion.
Two condoms on top of each other, is that safer?
No. Two layers rub against each other and tear more easily than one. The same goes for a condom together with a female condom.
Can they be put over a toy?
Yes. If you share a toy, it gets a fresh condom for each person, and it is changed as well when switching between anal and vaginal.
How are they stored?
Dark, cool and dry, without pressure. The glove compartment and the back pocket are unsuitable, because heat and friction wear down the latex.
How long do they keep?
Until the printed expiry date. After that latex becomes brittle, and the condom is no longer used.
How is it disposed of?
Wrapped up in the residual waste, not down the toilet. Latex does not break down in waste water and can block pipes.
