The Vanilla massage oil from Hot is a perfumed oil for massaging the back, shoulders and legs, and its scent is vanilla. Its base is esters such as ethylhexyl stearate and caprylic/capric triglyceride, together with soybean oil, sunflower oil and a further vegetable oil; parfum provides the scent. Oil attacks latex: contact makes a latex condom unreliable, so this oil has no business anywhere near condoms. The 100 ml come in a clear plastic bottle with a black closure. On the front, “Massage Oil” is printed in gold beneath a drop emblem, with “Vanilla” in white and the Hot logo below. The oil is made in Germany. Can I use it to glide rather than massage?

Not for the intimate area. Oil stays on mucous membranes and is hard to wash off. If you want both in one evening, put a water-based gel next to it; there is a choice under water-based lubricant.

Is it compatible with toys?

With glass and stainless steel yes, with silicone only up to a point and with latex toys not at all. On silicone, oil leaves a film that is hard to remove. After contact, wash the toy with water and a cleaner from sex toy cleaner.

Does it come out of bedding again?

Usually yes, but not by itself. Oil soaks into cotton, so a towel underneath is the easier route. With silk and satin you should not do without one.

What should I watch for on the skin?

Two things. The oil contains soy, so it is not for you if you have a soy allergy, and it is perfumed. The first time, test it on a small patch on your forearm and wait a day before massaging a whole back with it. Keep it out of the eyes and off broken skin.

How do you store the bottle?

Tightly closed and out of the reach of children. After opening, the oil keeps for twelve months; the date up to which the unopened bottle keeps is printed on the back of the bottle.
