The Jockstrap Double by BURN has a pouch at the front and is open at the back: straps run around the buttocks without covering them. The design comes from sport and has been the same there for over a hundred years: support at the front, air at the back. Today it is mostly worn for a different reason, and that is just as legitimate. This version has two straps per side instead of one, framing the buttocks; pouch, waistband and straps are black. The pouch is made of matt fabric, cut in a triangle and has a vertical seam down the middle. The waistband is a wide elastic band; a small patch with a red BURN logo sits at the centre back. It sits under lingerie, under sex toys for men and in our bottoms up section.

How should a jockstrap sit?

The waistband sits on the hips, the pouch holds at the front without pressing, and the straps run under the buttocks, not on top. Worn high they leave a pressure mark after an hour.

Which size do you take?

Your usual size. Too small the pouch constricts, too large it holds nothing. So try the jockstrap on before it matters: anything that pinches comes off after ten minutes.

How is it washed?

At thirty degrees, without fabric softener, dried flat. The tumble dryer takes the tension out of the elastane. Wash it separately from other colours the first few times.

What is the fabric made of?

80% polyester and 20% elastane. The elastane makes the fabric stretchy, so the pouch and straps move with you and then return to their shape. The polyester hardly creases and dries quickly after washing.

How do you put it on?

Like briefs: step through the opening between strap and pouch with each leg and pull the waistband up. Then adjust the pouch and smooth the straps flat.
