How long may they stay on?

For no more than 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Try the pressure briefly on a fingertip first so you know what to expect. Release the clamps at once if the nipple goes numb or it hurts more than intended.

How firmly do they press?

Firmly and always the same: the pressure comes from the magnetic force alone and can be neither loosened nor increased. For very sensitive nipples that can be too much; a clamp with an adjusting screw is then the better choice.

Why does it pull when you take them off?

While the clamp is on, less blood flows into the nipple. When it returns on release, it can briefly pull more than while wearing. So pull the bar halves apart slowly rather than with a jerk.
