So you start light and build slowly; the skin shows more reliably than any rule where the limit is. Redness is normal, bruises and broken skin are not. Only the buttocks and the backs of the thighs get hit; spine, kidneys, tailbone, belly, joints, neck and head are off limits, and experience does not change that. Where may you strike?
