The Tiopen 005 tights by Passion Woman are knitted in a rich, matt red and come in 60 den. The eye-catcher is at the top: instead of a closed brief section they end in crossed bands that sit low on the hips. At the front they run diagonally towards each other and form a V below the navel, at the back they cross over the bottom. Between the bands a cut-out at the hip stays open on each side, through which the skin shows. All edges have a fine scalloped trim. How opaque is 60 den?

Den states how many grams 9,000 metres of the yarn weigh. 60 den is a dense knit: the legs look solidly red, and the skin barely shows through.

Is the crotch open?

No. Only the two cut-outs at the hips stay open; the part below is closed right down to the crotch.

Which size is 1/2?

The smaller of the two sizes. It goes by height and weight together. If you are rather short or slim, this is the right one; with more weight at the same height you go for 3/4. The elastane gives and makes the knit sit close.

What goes with the low waist?

Because the bands sit low, the stomach stays bare. A short top or a bra shows off the crossed bands and the cut-outs at the hips best.

What is included?

One pair of tights. The red pumps and the necklace in the pictures are not included.

How do you care for them?

It is gentlest by hand in cool water with a little mild detergent. Take off rings first, just press the water out without wringing and let the tights dry lying flat.
