The Vibrator No. 4 by Dolce Vita is a straight wand vibrator made of soft silicone in pink. In its upper third it is a little fuller and tapers to a rounded tip; below that the shaft becomes slightly slimmer and so sits well in the hand. A button with a power symbol sits at the front of the lower part, and a rose-gold end cap with a metallic sheen forms the base. It has seven vibration modes and a battery that you charge via USB. How do you use it best?

First place it externally with the tip and try out the modes at your leisure, starting with a gentle one. For insertion, take a little lubricant and let it slide in slowly; the rounded tip makes the start easy.

Which lubricant fits?

A water-based one. Silicone-based lubricant can leave the silicone surface dull and tacky. You will find a selection under water-based lubricant.

How do you charge it?

Via USB. Charge it fully once before first use and then as soon as the vibration weakens. Make sure it is dry while charging.

Can you use it anally?

No. It lacks a flared base, which stops a toy from slipping all the way into the bottom. For anal play, use a toy that is built for exactly that.

How do you clean and store it?

After use, wipe it with a damp cloth and a sex toy cleaner instead of submerging it, and let it dry. Keep it on its own, for example in a pouch, because silicone easily takes on colour from other soft toys.
