How should a garter belt sit?

The belt sits at the waist or just below it, not on the hips. The straps run down without twisting and are adjusted so the stockings hold without pulling. If anything tightens as you sit down, the straps are too short.

Not if the straps are set correctly. The most common cause of slipping clips is adjusting them too tightly while standing: as you sit down the stocking rides up and the clip loses its grip. So set the length while sitting, not standing.

How do I keep white white?

Wash it separately, not in a drum with anything coloured, and not with pale grey either. Leave out the fabric softener – it settles on the fibres and makes white look dull and yellowish over time.

What do I do if the lace snags?

Take off rings and watches beforehand, and guide the lace over the palm of your hand rather than your fingertips as you put it on. Small pulled threads can be carefully drawn back from the inside, but never cut off – the spot then runs further.
