What do you feel of the rings?

Movement, above all. Sitting still they recede, but as soon as you move it a little, ring after ring passes the sphincter. That is exactly what the shape is made for, and a few centimetres of travel are enough. Drawn slowly it turns into a distinct rhythm that many find more pleasant than a smooth face.

Does that make it harder to insert?

No, because the rings are shallow and the dome starts narrow. They are meant as texture, not as an obstacle. More lubricant than with smooth models still makes sense, because more of it spreads between the rings.
