Why hybrid and not pure water?

Because a water gel dries in over a long session and you would have to keep topping it up. The silicone content keeps it slippery, the water content keeps it washable.

Why a tub instead of a tube?

Because this use needs a lot and both hands are busy. Squeezing a tube is impractical then - from a tub you simply take what you need.

Does it get on with toys?
