The shop said only „water based 100 ml“ - the tube says anal across half its front. This is the anal lubricant of the AQUAglide range, not the neutral version, and the difference is no subtlety: the rectum produces no moisture of its own, the gel is the only source there is. The formula is set accordingly - it stays put longer than a gel for vaginal intercourse. The rest is the familiar AQUAglide equipment: water-soluble and greaseless, pH-optimized, condom-compatible, dermatologically and clinically tested. Numbing additives are not in it, and with anal sex that is a feature, not a shortcoming: pain there is a warning you need to be able to hear. One hundred millilitres last for many sessions; anyone who plays anally regularly reaches for the litre bottle of the same range. Made in Germany. How much lubricant do you need anally?

What sets it apart from the neutral AQUAglide?

The consistency. The anal gel stays in place longer, because nothing there helps out. The ingredient base and the testing are the same for both.

What does „medical lubricant“ mean?

It is printed on every tube of the range and is a classification, not a health claim: pH-optimized, dermatologically and clinically tested, meant for mucous membranes. A medicine it is not.

Does it get on with toys and condoms?

With both. That is the advantage of a water base: silicone oil attacks silicone toys, oil makes condoms unsafe - a water gel has neither problem.

Do you have to top it up?

On longer sessions yes, that comes with a water base. The gel dries in over time; a few drops of water bring it back, and topping up works as well.

Where is it made?

In Germany - JoyDivision prints „Made with Love in Germany“ on the packaging. With lubricants that is no footnote: the ingredient list is therefore declared under German cosmetics law.
