The Rotator Probe from the Eclipse range by CalExotics is made of grey silicone and has an oval head that rotates at the push of a button. Below it follow a ridged neck, a shaft that is thickest in the middle and narrows again towards the base, and a flat, curved base that stays outside; that is a must for every anal toy, because the sphincter pulls inward whatever it can grip. The button in the base lets you choose between twelve functions. The button sits in a silver-rimmed recess on the outside of the base. The surface is smooth and matt. What does the rotation do?

As it turns, the head moves along the wall while shaft and base stay still.

Why is the base curved?

It follows the curve between the buttocks. That way it lies flat instead of sticking out sideways.

Which lubricant fits?

A water-based one, because silicone lubricant can attack a silicone surface. And more of it than with a smooth plug, because the head moves; nothing gets wet by itself anally anyway. Top up as soon as it starts to feel tacky. The selection is under water-based lubricant, thicker ones under anal and fisting lubricant.

How do I start with it?

Switched off and in a relaxed position. Insert it as you breathe out until the base sits flat, and only then switch on the rotation, never against resistance. If it hurts, stop rather than push through.

How do I charge and clean it?
