How do you make the loops glow?

The green parts need to soak up light first, ideally sunlight. Afterwards they glow by themselves in a darkened room, with no battery and no cable. The longer they lay in the light, the stronger the glow.

What do you watch for safety?

The ball is closed all the way through, so breathing happens through the nose alone. It must stay clear the whole time; with a cold, a blocked nose, nausea or after alcohol there is no gagging. Whoever wears the gag is never left alone. As speaking is no longer possible, agree beforehand on a signal without words that ends everything at once, for example dropping an object. Wear it only briefly at a time; more saliva than usual is normal. If the ball only fits behind the teeth with pressure, nothing is forced and the jaw is not overstretched.

How do you adjust the width?

Place the ball behind the teeth and take the strap round the back of the head. Then put the pin through the hole at which the strap lies close without pressing, and tuck the free end through the loop. A finger's width stays free between strap and head.

How do you clean it?

Wash ball and rod with warm water and mild soap and dry them well. Only wipe the bonded leather straps damp; the material cannot take soaking, the washing machine or radiator heat. Let everything dry at room temperature before putting the gag away.
