The oval ball stretcher by Steel is a ball ring made of polished stainless steel with a strongly domed outer side: in cross-section it is oval rather than angular, and the edges are rounded off. The opening itself is perfectly round. It consists of two halves that are placed around the scrotum and screwed together; the matching hex key comes with it. With its tall, solid body it is a heavy stretcher that sits above the testicles and draws them down with its weight. How is it put on?

In two halves around the scrotum. Undo the screws with the hex key, place the halves around the skin above the testicles and screw them firmly back together. Make sure no skin gets caught in the joint. It is easiest when warm and relaxed; a little lubricant, for example from water-based lubricant, helps when adjusting it. Stainless steel takes any lubricant.

How long may it be worn?

Only briefly at first, 20 to 30 minutes at most in total. If you take blood thinners or have circulation problems, talk to a doctor first. At any pain, numbness, coldness, discolouration or swelling, unscrew it at once. Never tug at it and do not fall asleep wearing it. Steel cannot be cut open in an emergency, so keep the key within reach at all times. If you put it on a partner, never leave them alone with it.

Is it one for beginners?

Rather not. The tall ring weighs considerably more than a flat one and pulls correspondingly hard. Anyone who has never worn a stretcher is better off starting with a lighter model and working up slowly.

How is it cleaned and stored?

With warm water and mild soap, before and after every use. Stainless steel has no pores and does not rust. Take the screws out, clean the threads as well and dry all parts thoroughly. Keep the screws, key and ring together in a dry place so nothing gets lost.
