Smooth, non-porous ones: tiles, glass, mirrors, varnished wood, the bathtub. It will not hold on wallpaper, plaster or oiled wood. What matters is that both surfaces are clean and dry when you press it on; lubricant on the base is the most common reason a suction cup slides off.
