Opaque and revealing at once - how does that work?

Through the cut-outs. The knit itself covers completely; what shows is only what the holes let through. That is the opposite of the net models in this range, where the whole surface is transparent.

What does one size mean here?

Leg Avenue lists one size as EU 34 to 40 and plus size as EU 42 to 46. With bodystockings the width is rarely the problem - the fabric stretches a long way. The length is: it hardly stretches, and on a very tall frame the crotch pulls downwards.

What does the ankle length give you?

The foot stays free: no stocking part rubbing inside a shoe, and barefoot it reads like leggings. For a costume or the club that is the more practical build.

How do you put it on without ruining it?

Like tights: rings off, nails checked, gather the fabric down to the foot, step in and roll it up bit by bit. Anyone yanking at it catches a stitch - and that one ladders.

What do you do when a stitch ladders?

A drop of clear nail varnish at the top and bottom end of the ladder stops it straight away. It is not pretty, but it saves the evening - and on coarse net you hardly see it.

Do you wear anything underneath?

How is it washed?
