Is the third function worth it?

If thrusting should be something other than vibration, yes. Anyone wanting only pressure waves outside and oscillation inside is better off with the 2-in-1 version; the housing is the same on both.

Does it really suck?

No, and that is the most common misunderstanding. Inside the chamber the air pressure changes very quickly, and those pressure waves meet the clitoris without touching it. Does it need lubricant?
