How long may a ring be worn?

Twenty to thirty minutes at a stretch at most. If anything goes cold, numb, discoloured or starts to hurt, it comes off at once, sooner rather than later if in doubt. Then a break of at least an hour before it goes on again, and never fall asleep wearing it. Under the influence of alcohol or drugs, leave it off altogether.

Which size fits?

The one that holds without hurting. A ring that hurts is too small; one that slips is too large. Try the rings one after the other and, if in doubt, take the loosest.

How does a ring come off again?

With cold water and patience, not with force. The congestion eases as soon as things cool, and then it comes off by itself. A stretchy ring can also be widened carefully.

How are the rings cleaned and stored?

They are waterproof: after each use, wash them with warm water and a little mild soap, including between the bulges, beads and ribs, then rinse well and leave them to air-dry. Store them dry and dust-free, ideally together in a pouch so that none goes missing.
