This dilator from the Steel line is a long urethral rod in polished stainless steel whose front section consists of a row of closely set beads. A smooth middle section follows, and the rear end is made as a ribbed grip. Right at the back sits a movable black ring on a metal bow that can be placed behind the glans like a glans ring. A smooth sound glides evenly, whereas the row of beads makes each single bead noticeable as it passes. This is nothing for a first try with urethral toys; thin, smooth dilators exist for that. How is it inserted?

Sterile and only under its own weight. Beforehand, clean and disinfect the rod and use only sterile water-based lubricant. Hold it loosely by the grip and let it slide in slowly without pressing. With pain, burning or blood, stop at once.

How deep does it go?

Only as far as it glides by itself. The length is not a target that has to be reached. If you feel resistance, that is where it ends, and the rod is drawn out just as slowly.

What applies when the ring is put on?

Wear it briefly, for 20 to 30 minutes at most. Only put it on if it comes off easily while soft. With numbness, cold, discolouration, swelling or pain it comes off at once, and you never fall asleep with it.

Which lubricant is suitable?

A sterile-filled water-based one. For the urethra, a normal lubricant from an opened bottle is not enough. Water-based products are under water-based lubricant.

How does it get clean?

Thoroughly before and after every use. Wash with warm water and soap, especially between the beads and in the ridges of the grip, then disinfect and let it dry completely. Keep it free of dust.
