Because the base is flat rather than hollow. It stands securely on a table but does not hold on tiles - if you need that, take Elian or Eban.

Does the suction base really hold?

On tiles and glass yes, on wood and grouting no. The surface has to be smooth and dry; then the base carries weight too.

Which lubricant suits it?

Any of them. PVC gets along with water-, silicone- and hybrid-based gels alike - that is what the pack says.

How is it cleaned?

Warm water with soap or a toy cleaner, then left to air-dry. Anything holding electronics never goes under a running tap.
