How do you put them on?

Wrap the cuff around the wrist, pull the webbing strap tight and press the hook-and-loop down firmly along its whole length. It sits correctly when it does not slip over the hand and yet constricts nowhere. Only when both sides are closed do you hook the snap hooks into each other.

How do you free the hands quickly?

In two ways: either unhook one snap hook from the ring, and the cuffs stay on the wrists, or pull the hook-and-loop open, which works with one hand and without tools. Try both once before it matters.
