What do you watch for with glass?

Check it before every use for cracks, chips and splintered spots; if anything is damaged, stop using it. Do not drop it, and do not put it down where it can roll away. Store it on its own and softly padded, for example in a fabric pouch.

How do you use warmth and cold?

No. The glass ring in the middle is a grip and only slightly wider than the thickest point of the ends, so it does not hold securely outside as a stop.
