Why does it feel firm at first?

Because coconut oil is solid at room temperature. On the skin it melts within a few seconds and then turns creamy. Between your fingers it happens faster still.

Does it turn greasy?

No, the water content sees to that. A pure oil base would leave a film; this hybrid washes off with soap. Nothing is left on the skin afterwards.

What about condoms?

Oil and latex do not get on. If a condom is involved, reach for a pure water formula; that is the rule rather than an exception. Oil makes latex porous, and that is not a theoretical risk.

And with silicone toys?

Better not there either. The silicone content can attack soft surfaces, and for such toys a water base stays the right choice. Glass and stainless steel take anything.
