Body Lube by Cobeco is a water-based, latex-safe lubricant. It comes in a large black bottle, printed with “LUBE” in white and “Body” above it in red script. Water-based means it washes off with clear water and soaks in faster than an oil. If you react sensitively, try a new gel on the inside of your elbow first. Anally the rule is: take more than you think, and top up in between. Lubricant is not only for emergencies, by the way: even if you get wet on your own, a little gel adds to it, because the friction becomes more even. Is it condom-safe?

Yes. Water-based gels do not attack latex, unlike oil and petroleum jelly, which make a condom useless within minutes. The same goes for latex-free condoms made of polyisoprene or polyurethane. Condoms are under condoms.

Does it suit silicone toys?

Yes. Only silicone oil attacks silicone, water does not. That makes a water-based gel the one kind that suits genuinely every material.

What do you do when it soaks in?

A splash of water brings most water-based gels back; that is the usual trick and cheaper than topping up.

How do I apply it?

On both sides: onto your fingers, the toy or the condom and also directly onto the skin where it should glide. That spreads it better than one large portion in a single place.

How do I store it?

Tightly closed, cool and out of direct sunlight. How long it keeps after opening is stated on the bottle. With the large bottle it is worth checking that before you open it, because a litre lasts a long time. Wipe the opening briefly after use so that nothing dries on at the opening.

Does it leave stains?

As a water-based gel it leaves no grease stains. Whatever ends up on bedding or clothing comes out in a normal wash.
