How big is the hat?

It is a miniature and does not cover the head. As an accessory it sits on the hair, much like a headband with a motif, and leaves the hairstyle visible.

How does the clip hold in the hair?

Most securely in a strand close to the roots. In fine or very straight hair it helps to backcomb the spot lightly first or to add a hairpin crosswise, so the hat does not slip when you move.
