How tightly may they sit?

So that two fingers fit between cuff and skin, and not a millimetre tighter. Metal cuffs click shut in steps and tighten further when tugged, so set them correctly beforehand and do not yank on them. Open them at once if there is numbness, coldness or pale skin.

What if the key is lost?
