A jockstrap is a pouch at the front and nothing at the back - two straps run around the buttocks without covering them. The design comes from sport and has been the same there for over a hundred years: support at the front, air at the back. Today it is mostly worn for a different reason, and that is just as legitimate. In practice the pouch is what counts: it should hold without pressing - too small constricts, too large holds nothing at all. The straps belong under the buttocks and not on top; worn high they leave a pressure mark after an hour. Wash at thirty degrees without softener and dry flat. This version is matt and two-coloured. What makes lingerie work is decided less by the fabric than by whether it gets worn. Hence two sober points. The first: trying it on belongs to it, and before the evening arrives - anything that pinches comes off after ten minutes, and then the whole effort was wasted. The second: dark lingerie bleeds on the first wash, so it is washed separately and not together with light colours. Putting it on works from the bottom up, and taking it off takes patience - lace tears at exactly the seam that gets pulled.
