The Deep Sea Kraken lubricant comes from the Fiction Lube range by Shots, the company behind Ouch!, and its full name is “Deep Sea Kraken Cum Lube”. It is a water-based gel with no scent and no taste. The slim, clear bottle with a black cap is printed all round in comic style: an orange kraken with huge yellow-green eyes whose tentacles curl across the whole bottle, surrounded by neon colours. Above it, the name is set in angular yellow letters. At the bottom of the front are Cum Lube and the content, and the back is labelled in Dutch, German and French. It stands under lubricant, with water-based lubricant, under drugstore and with the sex toys.

How do you apply it?

Put as much gel as you like on your fingers, straight onto the skin or onto the toy, and spread it with a few strokes. When the glide fades, add more as often as you want. If the gel has already dried a little, a few drops of water make it smooth again.

Does it go with condoms and toys?

Yes. As a water-based gel it is compatible with latex condoms and with toys of all materials. For silicone toys in particular it is the easy choice, because silicone-based lubricant can damage their surface.

What is in it?

Aqua, Glycerin, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Pentylene Glycol, Lactic Acid, Serine, Sodium Lactate, Sorbitol, Urea, Sodium Chloride, Allantoin and a colourant. It contains no oil and no silicone, so the gel is fat-free.

How do you get it off again?

Rinse it off skin and toys with warm water. Drops on light bedding or clothing are best wiped out with a damp cloth straight away, while they are still fresh.

How do you store it?

Cool and dark, with the cap closed and out of the reach of children. Once opened it keeps for twelve months; it helps to write the date on the bottle straight away.
