The bottle lists what the gel does: long-lasting lubrication, condom-compatible, water-soluble and greaseless, pH-optimized, dermatologically and clinically tested, made in Germany. A litre sounds like a lot and is - this size pays off for couples who need lubricant regularly, or for anything dosed generously. The price advantage per millilitre over the tube is considerable. The pump dispenser on top delivers one portion per stroke and can be worked one-handed. Anyone who rarely needs lubricant is better served by the 50 or 200 ml tube: opened goods do not keep indefinitely. It stands with lubricant, under water-based lubricant, in the drugstore section and with the sex toys for couples.

Is the litre worth it?

If you dose regularly and generously, yes - per millilitre it is the cheapest version of the range. For occasional use a tube makes more sense, because the gel does not keep forever once opened.

How much do you need?

Less than you think: a pea-sized blob, spread out and topped up when needed. Too much gel makes the sensation dull rather than better.

What does „medical lubricant“ mean?

It is printed on every tube of the range and is a classification, not a health claim: pH-optimized, dermatologically and clinically tested, meant for mucous membranes. A medicine it is not.

Does it get on with toys and condoms?

With both. That is the advantage of a water base: silicone oil attacks silicone toys, oil makes condoms unsafe - a water gel has neither problem.

Do you have to top it up?

On longer sessions yes, that comes with a water base. The gel dries in over time; a few drops of water bring it back, and topping up works as well.

Where is it made?

In Germany - JoyDivision prints „Made with Love in Germany“ on the packaging. With lubricants that is no footnote: the ingredient list is therefore declared under German cosmetics law.
