A massage candle, listed in the shop so far as a massage oil - but the product is a candle in a metal tin with a pouring spout, and the type has been changed accordingly. This is how it works: light it, let it burn for about a quarter of an hour, blow it out and pour the liquefied wax over the skin as a warm massage oil. The wax burns at a low temperature, so it is warm and not hot - even so, the test on the back of your own hand belongs before the first use. The range is called Ignite, this variety Mediterranean Almond. The scent is sweet almond, warm and without a fruit note. One peculiarity belongs here: the older tin carries „Mediterranean Almond“, the newer one of the same variety „Sweet Almond“ - the manufacturer has changed the variety name, the content is the same. Because the wax becomes oil, the same holds as for every massage oil: not with latex condoms, and on textiles stains stay. It stands with massage products, in the drugstore section, with the sex toys for couples and under sexual preparations.

How hot does the wax get?

Massage candles burn at a low temperature; the liquid wax is warm, not hot. Even so: test it on the back of your own hand first, then apply - and never pour from a height.

How long does it have to burn?

About fifteen to twenty minutes, until enough wax has liquefied. Before that you pour out more wick than oil, and the rest of the tin stays solid.

Is „Sweet Almond“ the same thing?

Yes. The manufacturer renamed the variety; older tins carry „Mediterranean Almond“, newer ones „Sweet Almond“. Both pictures show the same article.

Does it go together with condoms?

No. Oil attacks latex and makes condoms unsafe - that holds for every oil. Where a condom is involved, a water-based gel belongs with it; suitable ones are under water-based lubricant.

Does the oil stain?

On textiles yes - oil does not come out again with water alone. Laying down a towel is the simplest way, and the bedding stays intact.

Can it be burned as an ordinary scented candle?

Yes, it scents the room without a massage too. But anyone burning it regularly as a candle will at some point have no massage left from it - that is what the wax is for.
