Which lubricant fits?

A water-based one, because silicone oil attacks soft TPE and makes the surface tacky over time.

Can it be warmed up?

Yes, and it is worth it: a few minutes in warm water, not in the microwave and not on the radiator. TPE takes on warmth and gives it back for a while.
