Which batteries does it take?

Two AA cells. They sit in the handle under the twist cap; a spare set in the drawer saves hunting at the worst possible moment.

How is jelly cared for?

Warm water with soap, then dried and stored separately. Jelly contains plasticisers: two toys touching for months leave sticky patches on each other. Jelly is also porous and gets clean but not germ-free, which is why a condom goes over it when it is shared.
