Is this real leather?

No. The cuffs are made mostly of PU and PVC, in other words faux leather. The fittings are iron and a zinc alloy, with a small share of nickel. Anyone allergic to nickel is better off not wearing these cuffs.

How do you adjust the fit?

Wrap the cuff around the wrist, run the strap through the buckle and set the pin in the hole where it sits snugly without pressing. There are four holes to choose from.

Can you separate the hands quickly?

Yes. You open the snap hooks on the chain with your thumb, and the hands are free while both cuffs stay closed. Without the chain the cuffs can be worn as two single bracelets.

What do you watch for when restraining?

One finger always fits between cuff and skin. Check now and then that the hands stay warm; at tingling, numbness, cold or pale skin, release at once. Agree on a stop signal beforehand, keep scissors within reach, and never leave anyone restrained alone. Change position after a while and never put the cuffs around the neck.
