Stimul8, or S8 for short, is a lubricant brand at heart: 55 of the 71 items are lubricants. Alongside them sit 8 massage oils and gels, 6 stimulation and intimate care gels, and two toy-care products.

What makes S8 unusual is the breadth inside a single category. Instead of one gel in three sizes, there is a base line, a flavour line, effect gels, hybrids, specialist gels and fisting gels – mostly in 50 and 125 ml, with the large containers at 200, 250 and 500 ml.

🧪 The base matters, not the scent

The distinction that counts with S8 is not the flavour but the base:

• Water-based – the bulk of the range, such as the S8 water-based in 125 ml. Compatible with condoms and with every toy material, silicone included
• Hybrid – a water gel with a silicone content: Cannabis Hybrid, Cum Glide, Hybrid Fist and Extreme Fist Hybrid. It glides for longer and washes off less easily. Take care with silicone toys – the silicone content can attack the surface; test on an inconspicuous spot first, or reach for a water-based gel
• Glycerin-free – the glycerin-free S8 is meant for anyone prone to thrush; glycerin is a sugar and can feed yeast
• Vegan – explicitly declared free of animal ingredients

🍓 Flavours, effects and specialist gels

The flavour line comes in blueberry, cherry, strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and salted caramel, plus piña colada in the 4-in-1 range, each in 50 and 125 ml. Next to those sit gels with a warming and a cooling effect, aloe vera for sensitive skin, Intimate Energy with hyaluronic acid, and the rainbow edition Pride Glide.

For specific uses there are two sprays rather than gels: the Ease anal spray and the Deep Throat oral spray with mint, both 30 ml.

✊ The fisting gels

Four items sit outside the pattern: the extra-thick fisting gels at 200 and 500 ml. They are considerably heavier than ordinary lubricant, so they dry more slowly and stay put through long play. Both fisting lines are hybrids – so the same caveat about silicone toys applies.

Water-based or hybrid – which should I take?

For everyday use and for silicone toys, water-based: simple, washable, compatible with everything. Take a hybrid when a water gel dries out too fast for you – during long sessions, anal play or in the shower. The price is the silicone content, which has no business on a silicone toy.

What sizes are there?

The standard is 50 and 125 ml – most gels come in both. The sprays and the care gels come in 30 ml, the care powder in 60 ml. Large containers run to 100, 200, 250 and 500 ml, mainly in the Extreme and fisting lines.

Are the flavoured gels edible?

They are made for contact with the mouth and mucous membranes, but they are not food. A few drops during oral sex are unproblematic; spoonfuls do not belong in your stomach. If you have allergies, always check the ingredient list on the bottle.

Why would I buy glycerin-free?

Glycerin makes a gel pleasantly soft, but it is a sugar alcohol. Anyone prone to thrush can get symptoms from it. If that applies to you, take the glycerin-free version – it barely differs in feel.

Why 500 ml of lubricant?

For fisting and extended anal play, where a single session uses more gel than a normal month. The large containers cost noticeably less per millilitre. For everything else, 50 or 125 ml is plenty, and an opened bottle should be used up reasonably quickly anyway.
