Is it not too small?

For a first attempt that is exactly right. Girth is the bigger hurdle at the start than length, and this diameter is a size nobody has to hesitate over. It also has its place as a warm-up piece before a larger model. Everything else comes later and in small steps. A jump to twice the size tends to end on the shelf, which helps nobody.

Does the base hold reliably?

Yes, the suggested testicles widen the lower end clearly. It therefore meets the basic rule for anything inserted anally: it has to be wider outside than in. The base always stays outside.

How do I care for it?
