Why a separate gel for anal use?

Because the rectum produces no moisture of its own. An anal gel is set thicker than an ordinary lubricant, stays where it was applied and does not migrate away within minutes. That staying power is the whole difference.

May it be used together with silicone toys?

Better not. Silicone attacks silicone, and the surface of the toy turns dull and sticky over time. Silicone toys belong with water-based lubricant. With glass, stainless steel, plastic and latex condoms the gel is fine without restriction.

How much does it take?

Considerably less than with a water-based gel. Two or three drops carry surprisingly far, because silicone neither dries nor soaks in. Topping up is rarely necessary, and starting too generously only means more cleaning afterwards.
