A boxer in stretch fabric is the cut with the longest leg and the widest waistband - and both are why it wears differently from a brief. The longer leg lies against the thigh instead of ending at the crease; so there is nothing to ride up as long as the size is right. If the leg does ride up, the boxer is too small and not too large - the most common misunderstanding with this cut. The wide waistband spreads the pull over an area rather than an edge and so cuts in less often. At the front the same counts as with any close-fitting underwear: the pouch should hold without constricting. Wash at thirty degrees without fabric softener and dry flat - softener takes the tension out of the elastane, and without tension a boxer is only fabric. The fabric is polyamide with elastane, and that has two sides few people spell out. The pleasant one: it is thin, stretches in every direction and moves with you instead of pulling; washed, it is dry within an hour. The other: man-made fibre breathes less well than cotton and takes on odour more readily. For an evening that does not matter, for twelve hours on an office chair it does - this is underwear worn because it appeals, not because it is the most sensible choice for everyday. One point comes on top that always applies to printed goods: the motif is printed on the fabric and stretches with it - on XL the same pattern looks larger and flatter than on S. Which size fits?

Lingerie fits differently from maker to maker. With stretchy material the size above is the better choice when in doubt.

How is it washed?

By hand at thirty degrees, without fabric softener, and dried flat. Softener takes the tension out of the elastics.

Are stockings included?

Only if it expressly says so. Stockings and suspenders are usually bought separately, the selection is under lingerie.

How is it stored?

Lying flat, not folded and not on a hanger. Lace warps when it hangs, and elastics go slack when they lie permanently stretched.
