Anais Men – 21 design lines, 178 items 👔

Anais Men makes men's underwear and shirts that go together: almost every design line comes as a brief, a jockstrap, a boxer and a shirt. 99 of the 178 items are shirts and tops, 27 are briefs, 18 each are boxers and jockstraps, 13 are trunks, two are boxer briefs and one is a thong. Because every size is a separate item, we name the lines here rather than all 178 individual entries.

The design lines 🎨

The widest ranges are Aegis, Comics and Power with 14 items each – for example the Aegis jockstrap, the Comics boxer and the Power jockstrap. Also well represented are Banana, Benito and Soul with twelve items each, among them the Banana jockstrap, the Benito boxer and the Soul boxer. Alongside them come Falcon and Tribal with eleven each, Naval and Petrol with ten each, Balance and Chill with nine each and Mercury, Mexico and Savage with six each – see men's lingerie.

Briefs, trunks and one thong 🩲

The 27 briefs come as Ares, Eros, Mexico, Naval in navy and Magic in green, among others. The 13 trunks have a little more fabric; the skimpiest cut is the brand's only thong, the Ares in black – see bottoms for men.

Eighteen jockstraps 🍑

Boxers and boxer briefs 🩳

The 18 boxers are the most comfortable and run from the Aegis through Balance in black, Naval in navy, Magic in green and Falcon to the Tokio. Cut longer and fitting more closely are the two boxer briefs, among them the Falcon boxer brief.

99 shirts, tops and hoodies 👕

The largest part of the brand is not underwear at all but tops: T-shirts, sleeveless vests and one hooded shirt, in the same designs as the underwear. They include the Aegis shirt, the Aegis hooded shirt, the Tribal shirt, the Benito shirt, the Mercury shirt, the Soul shirt and the vests Benito, Soul and Tokio – see tops for men.

Which sizes are available?

S, M, L and XL, plus 2XL on the Ares thong. Every size is a separate item – which is how 21 design lines come to 178 entries. A measurement in centimetres is on file for none of the 178 items, so the size chart on the product page is the only reliable source.

What is the underwear made of?

Polyamide with elastane, in four blends: 97 items at 80 to 20 per cent, 36 at 95 to 5, 27 at 94 to 6 and 16 at 85 to 15. Two items are polyester with elastane. The higher the elastane content, the more stretch – the 80-to-20 blend sits closest to the body.

What is the difference between a brief, a trunk and a jockstrap?

A brief fits closely and covers front and back. A trunk is the same cut with a little more fabric at the sides. A jockstrap leaves the buttocks completely bare and holds only at the front – made as a visual thrill, not as everyday underwear for long days. The thong is the skimpiest option of all.

Is this suitable for everyday wear?

The boxers and trunks, without reservation. Briefs and jockstraps are cut tighter and made of thinner fabric; whether that stays comfortable over eight hours is very personal. If you are trying it for the first time, start with a boxer from the same line.

How should it be washed?

By hand, or in a mesh bag on a gentle cycle at a low temperature, then air-dried. No tumble dryer, no bleach, no fabric softener: all three attack elastane, and elastane that has lost its shape does not come back. Follow the sewn-in care label.
