Top Benito XL – a bicycle print on a dark ground 🚲

The Top Benito by Anais Men is a sleeveless shirt cut like a tank top. It is printed with small bicycles in red, yellow and light blue, standing in close rows on a black ground. The round neckline and the wide armholes are finished with a narrow black trim, and shoulders and upper arms stay bare. The fabric is 94% polyamide and 6% elastane. How does the top fit?

Close to the body. The elastane lets the thin fabric give in every direction, so it follows the line of chest and waist instead of hanging boxily. If you like it looser or are between two sizes, the larger one is the more comfortable choice.

Is this underwear or outerwear?

It is meant as men's lingerie, part of an outfit for an evening for two. You can also wear it on its own or under an open shirt; because the print also runs over the whole back, it looks just as complete from behind as from the front.

How do you wash it?

Most gently by hand or on a delicate cycle at no more than 30 degrees, ideally in a laundry bag and with similar colours. Skip fabric softener and the tumble dryer and let the top dry flat in the air; with this thin fabric that is quick.

How does the fabric wear over a whole day?

Polyamide with elastane is smooth and light, but absorbs less moisture than cotton and holds on to odours more readily. For an evening that makes no difference, on a long, warm day you are more likely to notice it.

How do you store it?

Loosely folded in a drawer. Hanging on a hanger, its own weight slowly pulls the stretchy fabric longer over time, especially at the straps.
