A brief in stretchy material sits close, and all the comfort hangs on that: the pouch at the front has to hold without constricting, and the waistband has to sit without cutting in. Neither shows when trying it on but after two hours sitting down - that is the test no mirror replaces. On sizing, take your own; one size down does not look tauter but leaves grooves. Wash at thirty degrees without softener and dry flat - softener takes the tension out of the elastane, and without tension the brief is just fabric. The fabric is polyamide with elastane, and that has two sides few people spell out. The pleasant one: it is thin, stretches in every direction and moves with you instead of pulling; washed, it is dry within an hour. The other: man-made fibre breathes less well than cotton and takes on odour more readily. For an evening that does not matter, for twelve hours on an office chair it does - this is underwear worn because it appeals, not because it is the most sensible choice for everyday. One point comes on top that always applies to printed goods: the motif is printed on the fabric and stretches with it - on XL the same pattern looks larger and flatter than on S. The piece comes from Anais Men, a Spanish label that deliberately treats men's underwear as lingerie. This version is Leopardenmuster in Rot und Schwarz in size XL. The fabric is 80 % Polyamid und 20 % Elasthan, the wide waistband carries the brand lettering. How is it washed?
