May it be used anally?

No, it is not meant for anal use. The base is only slightly wider than the thickest point of the body and therefore not a safe stop. Only use something anally that has a clearly wider, firmly moulded base on the outside, because the sphincter pulls in whatever it gets hold of.

Where are the ribs?

In two places: one block encircles the tip, a second sits at the lower end of the body, just before the neck. The section in between is smooth.

What is the base good for?

It provides a secure stand. With its level underside the plug stands upright on a table or shelf.

How do you clean it?
