On the Lock-It choker from the Master Series by XR Brands, the silver heart is not a pendant but a working padlock. Each end of the slim black band carries a small metal ring; the shackle of the heart lock runs through both rings and so keeps the choker closed. What applies when you lock it?

Check first, then snap it shut. Two fingers must fit comfortably between band and neck, and breathing and swallowing are free. One key always lies visible and within reach, not somewhere in a bag.

What if no key is at hand?

That is what the second one is for. Keep it in a fixed place separate from the first. For emergencies, scissors that can cut through the band next to the lock are ready as well.

May the choker be used for leading?

No. Nobody ever pulls on the lock, and the choker is neither tied to anything nor used for restraining or suspending. Whoever wears it locked is not left alone and does not sleep in it.

How do you open the heart padlock?

With the key from the front. You put it into the keyhole on the heart, turn it and pull the shackle out. Practise this once before the choker is worn locked for the first time.

How do you care for band and lock?

Wipe the band damp, keep the lock dry. Do not soak the band. If water gets into the lock, let it dry open so that the mechanism stays smooth.
