What are the four beads for?

Each bead is felt separately on insertion. That is the difference from a smooth shaft that glides in in one go.

Is glass not cold?

At first yes. Anyone who holds the piece in warm water briefly or warms it in their hand notices nothing of it.

May it be warmed or cooled?

Yes, but only slowly - in lukewarm or cool water, never in a pot on the stove and never in the freezer. A sudden temperature change is the one thing that makes borosilicate genuinely dangerous.

How do you tell it is still intact?

Glass is non-porous and absorbs nothing. Run a hand over the surface before every use: a crack or a chip is the one reason to retire a glass item.

What is the broad foot for?

Which lubricant fits?
